We run a Summer and Winter Menu on a four-week cycle. There is a standard menu which most of the children have, but we also offer alternatives according to children's medical, ethnic and religious needs.

Through ensuring a balanced diet in their early years, and at school, together with better family cooking skills, lifestyle and food education, the Trust exists to help protect every child's right to eat better, and so do better – Child's Trust

Nothing is more important that your child's health, and at Unicorn we do our best to protect it.

Our menus are carefully planned and freshly prepared on site by our two dedicated nursery chefs (We follow the guidelines detailed by the Children's Food Trust). The menus are displayed prominently in the nurseries and on our website, and our chefs work closely with parents if there is a specific dietary requirement for their child.

A Typical Day

A typical day at Unicorn starts off with breakfast, followed by a mid-morning snack of fruit. A healthy two-course lunch follows around mid-day, and just before tea time, another fruit snack with a cup of milk is offered.

Tea-time is around 4 pm, when the children experience another two-course meal. Meals are served family-style, so that children can experience the socials aspects of mealtimes; setting the table, talking about the food that they are about to eat and then clearing away after themselves.

Unicorn believe in educating children about food to encourage them to make healthy choices.
